Challenge

Agility CMS is a headless CMS, providing cloud-based content APIs, workflow, and layout management as a service. They’re known for their developer-friendliness and easy-to-use CMS for both developers and marketers.

In the competitive landscape of content management, providing a robust collaborative workflow has become essential. These days users expect to work together in-app, and Agility CMS needed a solution to seamlessly integrate these features without diverting focus from their core product.

Solution

Agility CMS turned to Liveblocks to power their collaborative features. By leveraging Liveblocks, they were able to quickly implement comments and notifications within their platform.

“Liveblocks took us from 0-100 really fast. Instead of having to micromanage all the implementation details of the collaborative functionality, we could focus more on how we wanted that to work for our customers.”

Because Agility CMS uses React as part of their technology stack, this allowed them to embed Liveblocks Comments with minimal effort, and after Liveblocks Notifications was released, it made perfect sense to implement this too, as the two products work in tandem to provide a complete collaborative experience.

Ease of integration was not the only standout feature the team valued—Liveblocks also eliminates the need to scale and maintain a complex real-time infrastructure, saving them from a time-consuming and distracting task.

“Collaboration as a service is really powerful. If we had to build and host all of that ourselves, it would be very painful and distracting from our true purpose, which is to give our customers a voice.”

Results

Implementing Liveblocks resulted in Agility CMS improving user engagement and retention. The CMS’s enhanced collaborative capabilities attracted new customers and expanded usage among existing clients, solidifying Agility CMS’s position as a market leader.

“Liveblocks has helped us continue to lead the market and the expand out our current customer base. Our new collaborative benefits help to both bring on new customers, but also to expand current accounts to more users.”
