Liveblocks started after Guillaume Salles and Steven Fabre worked together on realtime creative tools and saw how much product quality depends on collaboration details most teams never want to maintain themselves.

The first idea was a multiplayer presentation tool. The deeper problem was infrastructure: presence, storage, comments, notifications, conflict handling, and developer experience that product teams could trust. Liveblocks became the APIs and components they wished they had.

Today we are still shaped by that origin. We care about craft, clear abstractions, fast integration paths, and the feeling that a product is truly alive when teammates and AI collaborators are working together.

We're a small globally distributed team with a passion for tools that foster collaboration. We're makers ourselves, and it's fair to say that we sweat the details in everything we do. Whether it be when designing a landing page for the website, establishing a team-connection strategy, sending books to a customer's sick kid, obsessing over the right abstractions for our APIs, and everything in between.
